Sooooo 11 years later, I don’t love this one, feel like there’s a lot of baggage that I don’t like in Aaron’s encounter with the groupie. But this is all based on boast-y shit that I’ve heard from people in bands like the Dirty Dudes. Still, I probably should have just left it out.

The guy in the Dirty Dudes Done Dirt Cheap’s Angus Young role is one of my favorite incidental character designs I’ve done. I love that guy.

I remember congratulating myself on the script for this one, thinking that it would be SO MUCH easier to draw than a regular NWB strip. It very much was not. On the bright side, the map is pretty accurate to the building level, at least as of 2009.

And, sigh, here in the middle of one of my favorite storylines begins the biggest damnfool aesthetic mistake I ever made, switching to a font based on my handwriting. And not even a well-executed version of that. The lettering’s gonna look like ass for a while now, and I hate that, and I’m sorry. I did eventually come to grips with how bad it looked and switched back at least.

I hate to say it, but nearly every line of dialogue in this one is something I’ve actually heard said.

I love this particular strip, and think the (very) extended storyline it kicks off is as good as Nowhere Band ever was.
